Web 2.0 Tools

I seem to be here a lot lately, but then again it is summer for me and I do have more time to spend. I have been working on a presentation , Using Web 2.0 Tools for the Classroom, that I will be giving this Saturday at the Teacher Networking Center on Eduisland V in Second Life.

I just came across one that I found to be especially interesting and would like to share.

In Google Lively you create an avatar and then chat with your friends in rooms that you design.
Lively is a free, downloadable application that lets you socialize and create rooms in 3-D.
It only uses Windows XP or Vista with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. No Mac as yet.

You create an avatar, with clothing and objects that were created by Google.
You can include photos, or videos from the web, as well embed the Lively into your blog, MySpace or Facebook.
Take a look at the Product Catalog.
